Deborah Hamon is an artist, adventurer, nature lover, and mother. Inspired by her time spent outdoors and her inner drive for exploration and travel, she creates paintings that are rooted in nature but are not representational. She says: “When I paint, I feel like I’m exploring—there’s this sense of discovery and possibility that keeps me curious and hopeful.”

Hamon received her MFA from the University of California, Davis where she had the opportunity to be Wayne Thiebaud’s teaching assistant and work closely with David Hollowell. Hamon’s work has won many awards and can be found in numerous collections including the Crocker Art Museum, West Collection, Triton Museum of Art, and di Rosa Center for Contemporary Art. She has exhibited widely including in the Art in Embassies program in Tel Aviv, Israel for 5 years. In 2013 she was part of The Arctic Circle Residency where she created The Polar Pom-Pom Project, to connect kids in a conversation about art and climate change. Hamon was born in Adelaide, Australia, lives in Novato, CA, and happily holds three passports.
