A Premiere
Destination
for Fine Art

Located in the landmark Industrial Center Building in Sausalito’s historic Marinship District, ICB/ART has become a renowned Bay Area destination for fine art and is home to many exceptional artists working in a diverse array of media. We host community-enriching events and open studios throughout the year.

Our visitors include art collectors, gallery owners, art consultants, interior designers, architects and fellow artists. Our convenient location offers easy access, including nearby ferry service, ample free parking and outstanding restaurants. Since 1968, the ICB artists have welcomed the public to come into their working studios during the Winter Open Studios event held during the first weekend in December. Open Studios offers a unique opportunity to meet the artists and talk to them about their creative process and their art.

Industrial Center Building, built in 1942

About the
Industrial
Center
Building

The landmark Industrial Center Building, also known as ICB, was built in 1942 as part of a large shipyard complex during WWII. It was originally know as the "Mold Loft" where the architectural drawings and templates were created for the fabrication of Liberty Ships in the adjacent shipyards. Beginning in the 1950s artists were attracted to its big open spaces, natural light and cheap rents. Today the ICB is known to be a mega-hub of creativity, with three floors of professional artists' studios.
