Chris Adessa is a Contemporary Realist whose studio overlooks the San Francisco Bay in the historic ICB building in Sausalito, California.  From the East Coast, she was drawn to Marin for its beauty and gentle climate.

Rooted in a deep sensitivity to presence, gesture, and memory, her series Everyday Sacred honors the overlooked details of daily life—objects, rituals, and spaces that hold emotional gravity despite their seeming simplicity.

Adessa brings an intimate attentiveness to her process. She creates environments that invite stillness and reflection. This is a body of work that elevates the mundane, asking viewers to reconsider the texture of their own lives through the lens of reverence, as she continues to explore the interplay between the visible world and the unseen forces that shape our experience of it.

Adessa’s work has been shown in museums and galleries across the United States, published in books, and is in collections internationally.
